As a coffee lover, not a day goes by that I do not drink coffee to get my day started and as an afternoon treat…now I can wear it! When I heard about this product from UpCircle using repurposed coffee grounds into their products, it really intrigued me. The company’s concept is nothing short of awesomeness. Taking used coffee grounds from London cafes, and what would normally end up as waste, UpCircle magically takes those grounds and creates a coffee oil for their products. How cool is that? …I think it is brilliant! I am all about sustainability and their products check off my list of great things I adore in a company…certified organic, 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free.
FACE SERUM : hydrating serum with coffee oil from repurposed grounds and jojoba, sea buckthorn and rosehip oils.
One of my focused skin care concerns is age spots and brightening my complexion. I was thrilled that this contained Vitamin C which targets my exact concerns. Plus loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin E.
My natural reaction was to assume that when I opened the product, it would be coffee color and smell just like coffee. I was surprised that it is a clear light yellow and smelled nothing like coffee. Not that that is a bad thing, it does smell delightful, I get a touch of lemon and the rosehip really comes through. The serum is a very nice, light consistency. Thank goodness it was not heavy, my skin rejects heavy serums. My skin literally drank it up like a cup of coffee. As a personal preference, I like to use serums at nighttime, but it can be worn during the day as well or whenever you need a bit of moisture. I did not feel the need to apply my usual nighttime moisturiser and my skin stayed beautifully hydrated until my morning routine.
I have used it for a week, at nighttime after toning and it clearly does a great job. Even though its too early to tell if my age spots have minimised, I have definitely noticed a difference in the overall smoothness in my skin as well as a bright healthy glow. Be forewarned, you do not need much! (I made the mistake of liberally applying it to my face the first time) …and with that said I see this bottle lasting awhile.
Another bonus, it that it is a multi use serum. Add it to your hair or beard for extra moisture and skin protection. My husband uses it as a beard oil, it left his beard soft, and he was happy it was not saturated with an unnatural fragrance, like some sickly beard oils. This really is an excellent product and will remain a staple in our house, just like our daily coffee.
